Carriage House was opened in 1965 as a men’s clothing store in Decatur AL by Jim and Marella Adams. Marella wanted to offer women in Decatur a place to buy their clothes as well. In the back room of then The Village Squire, Carriage House was born. As the ladies business grew, more emphasis was placed on the ultimate shopping experience in Decatur for women. The store grew over the years and is now located in downtown Decatur in the historic Masonic Temple.
